Who are we?
About Us
For thirty years, Bush Ways Botswana has specialised in curating authentic safari experiences that prioritise wilderness, authenticity, conservation, and exceptional guiding. Our journeys go beyond sightseeing - connecting travellers to Botswana’s ecosystems, cultures, and remote places in a way that feels honest and immersive.
Our ethos
Ethos
At Bush Ways Botswana, we believe safari is not simply about travel. It is about connection. Connection to the land, to wildlife, to community, and to one another.
For three decades, we have remained proudly wilderness and conservation driven. Our story began with a deep respect for the African bush and a belief that authentic safari experiences should be personal, purposeful, and profoundly moving.
We are not just a safari company, we are a clan!
History
Beginning of an Adventure
Since 1996, Bush Ways has proudly delivered “Adventure Journeys to the Heart of Africa.” What began as a passionate vision has grown into a respected and recognised name in Botswana’s tourism landscape, built on authenticity, experience, and a deep love for the wild.
The Genesis on Wheels
Armed with a single vehicle, a spirit of adventure, and a dream to share Botswana’s untamed beauty, Bush Ways began as a small guiding operation. Today, that same passion drives our commitment to authentic safari experiences, exceptional value, and responsible, sustainable tourism.
Sango Safari Camp
Bush Ways opened Sango Safari Camp in the Khwai region of the Okavango Delta, marking its first permanent safari camp. This milestone expanded the company from mobile safaris into lodge-based experiences within one of Botswana’s richest wildlife areas.
Why Bush Ways?
At Bush Ways Botswana, we don’t just take guests into the bush, but we invite them into our world. With over 30 years of guiding through Botswana’s wilderness, our safaris are rooted in deep local knowledge, genuine hospitality, and a passion for authentic encounters lived with our expert nature guides. Our guides are storytellers, trackers, and conservation custodians. Our camps are intimate and immersive, and our experiences are shaped around the rhythm of nature.

Meet the team
One of our greatest strengths lies behind the scenes.
Over the years, we have built one of the strongest mobile safari set-ups and support centres in the region; a solid operational backbone that allows every Bush Ways safari to run seamlessly from start to finish.
Situated on 2,000 square metres at the entrance of Maun, our headquarters is the engine room of our operations. From here, your journey is carefully managed from the moment your booking is confirmed and often long after your safari ends.
In the background, our fully equipped professional workshop is supervised by our Technical Operations Manager and a dedicated team of mechanics. They build, maintain, and service our vehicles and safari equipment to the highest standard. We even have our own in-house tailor ensuring tents, canvas, and custom fittings are always field-ready.
This integrated support structure allows us to operate independently and efficiently in some of Botswana’s most remote wilderness areas, delivering safaris that feel effortless to our guests, because every detail has already been thought through.

'Exceeded all expectations! I spent 8 days on a Bush Ways safari in Moremi, Savuti and Chobe. Our guide Evans was extremely experienced and made sure we saw the best wildlife and landscapes. Early morning and evening safaris were fantastic. Our cook Kepapa prepared delicious meals over the campfire every day. A truly authentic safari experience that I highly recommend.'
"Amazing opportunity for wildlife spotting and experiencing Botswana nature! We booked our Fish Eagle Safari via Safari Frank and spent 10 days in the Botswana bush (Okavango Delta, Moremi, Savuti & Chobe). We enjoyed game drives, nature walks and mokoro trips, seeing incredible wildlife and birdlife. Our guide Paul was an excellent spotter with great knowledge, and camp assistant Bornie prepared amazing campfire meals. A wonderful way to explore Botswana."
Exceptional! This company is excellent. They took care of our safari and mokoro tour in Botswana, in the Khwai Reserve in Moremi. They were impeccable in all aspects, always punctual and friendly. Our guide, Stan, was highly knowledgeable with an eagle eye for spotting animals. Thank you for an outstanding and unforgettable experience. We gladly recommend this company.
