Children are welcome on many of our safaris, however minimum age requirements vary depending on the itinerary and style of safari. For mobile camping departures, we generally recommend children be aged 12 and above due to the nature of long game drives and remote camp environments. Private departures offer greater flexibility and can be tailored to families travelling with younger children. Please speak with our team to determine the most suitable option.

Travellers should consult their doctor or travel clinic well in advance of departure. Botswana is a low-risk destination in terms of required vaccinations, however routine travel immunisations are recommended. Malaria is present in northern Botswana (including the Okavango Delta and surrounding areas), so anti-malarial medication is typically advised. Requirements can vary depending on your country of origin and any transit countries, particularly regarding yellow fever certificates.

Soft-sided luggage is essential, as light aircraft transfers have strict weight limits (typically 20kg including hand luggage). Neutral-coloured, lightweight clothing is recommended for game drives, along with a warm layer for early mornings in winter (May–August). Comfortable closed shoes, sun protection, a hat and binoculars are all useful. Detailed packing guidance is provided prior to departure to ensure you’re fully prepared.
