Your safari begins in Maun with a transfer to Deception Valley Private Reserve on the edge of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Over two days, enjoy guided game drives and a nature walk with a local San tracker, discovering desert-adapted wildlife such as oryx, lions, hyenas, and cheetahs. Experience vast open landscapes, cultural insights, and clear, star-filled Kalahari skies. Distance: Maun to Deception Valley Private Reserve: 160 km | Travel Time: 4 hours
The Boteti River in north-eastern Botswana flows through the historic Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, a region once part of an ancient lake and home to early human settlement. This area forms part of an impressive annual migration, with large herds of zebra, wildebeest, oryx, and springbok gathering alongside elephants and hippos. Exceptional birdlife, including flamingos, adds to the spectacle, with optional scenic flights, quad biking across salt pans, and cultural visits enriching the experience. Distance: Deception Valley Private Reserve to Boteti River Camp: 120 km | Travel time: 4-5 hours
After breakfast, travel west toward Khwai, stopping in Maun for lunch (own expense) and passing through wildlife-rich areas en route. An optional helicopter transfer is available. Over three days, explore the Khwai River region bordering Moremi Game Reserve, enjoying game drives and a mokoro excursion. Accommodation is at Khwai Guesthouse in Khwai Village, offering comfort and close access to exceptional wildlife viewing. Distance: Boteti River Camp to Khwai: 340 km | Travel Time: Approx. 6 hours (excluding lunch stop)
Travel to a rustic camp on the edge of Chobe National Park for a two-night stay, exploring its northern regions. Journey through Savuti to the Chobe floodplains, enjoying abundant wildlife supported by the Chobe River. Expect large elephant and buffalo herds, as well as predators like lions and leopards. Activities include guided game drives and a scenic boat cruise during your stay at Chobe Elephant Camp. Distance: Khwai to Chobe: 200 km | Travel Time: 10 hours (including game drives)
After a brief morning game drive, transfer to the Kazungula border where you will meet your vehicle to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (visa required). Your time with the Bush Ways team concludes here. Spend the night at a comfortable lodge and enjoy the opportunity to visit the iconic Victoria Falls and local markets. Lunch and dinner are at your own expense. Distance: Chobe to Victoria Falls: 160 km | Travel Time: Approx 3.5 hours driving time (plus border crossing)

Our Helicopter Safaris, whether doorless or closed is operated in partnership with Helicopter Horizons, offer a breathtaking aerial perspective of the Okavango Delta and surrounding wilderness. From above, guests witness the vast floodplains, winding channels, and wildlife moving across the landscape, revealing the true scale and beauty of this remarkable ecosystem in a way only possible from the air.
Mokoro Excursion
A mokoro safari offers a peaceful journey through the quiet channels of the Okavango Delta, guided by skilled local polers. Moving silently through the water, guests experience the Delta at a slower pace, surrounded by birdlife, aquatic plants, and the natural beauty of this unique ecosystem. It is one of the most authentic and immersive ways to connect with the spirit of the Delta.
San Trail & Nature Walk
